Setup Tutorial
Everything you need to go from zero to sending your first transaction — safely.
Before you begin
- Download the APK from our Download page and install on Android (enable “Install unknown apps” if prompted)
- Have pen and paper ready — you'll write down a 12-word recovery phrase
- Never screenshot or cloud-store your seed phrase
Create a new wallet
Open Metrust → tap Create new wallet → tap Generate recovery phrase. Write all 12 words on paper in order. Tap I have written it down, name your wallet, then continue to backup.
Backup to your computer
Choose a strong backup password (8+ characters). Export the encrypted .json file and save it to your Mac or PC — not in email unless you trust the encryption. Store the password separately.
Import an existing wallet
Tap Import wallet → choose Seed phrase, EVM private key, or Solana private key → enter credentials → complete backup export. Your addresses appear on the Wallet tab immediately.
Practice on testnet first
Go to Settings → Network mode → Testnet. Switch EVM network to Sepolia. Get free Sepolia ETH from a faucet. Send a small test transaction before using mainnet.
Send & receive
Receive: Tap Receive → choose EVM or Solana → share QR or address.
Send: Tap Send → pick chain → enter address and amount → confirm with biometrics.
Tokens: In Send, switch to the Token tab and select USDC, USDT, or WETH.
Connect to dApps (WalletConnect)
Open the Connect tab. On a dApp (e.g. Uniswap), choose WalletConnect → copy the wc: URI → paste in Metrust → approve the connection → approve each signing request individually.
Verify on block explorers
Tap the explorer icon next to your address to view it on Etherscan, BscScan, or Solscan. Activity tab transactions also open directly in the explorer.
